Last Updated: September 18, 2026

1. Introduction
Welcome to Ryne. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, when information may be shared with service providers, and the choices you have regarding your information when you use the Ryne mobile application.

Ryne provides personality and career assessments, personalized assessment interpretations, career guidance, and related career-development services.

2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Ryne, we may collect the following types of information:

Account Information: Information you provide when creating or managing an account, such as your name, email address, and account authentication information.

Assessment Data: Your responses to assessment questions, assessment scores, test completion information, and personality and career assessment results generated from your responses.

Generated Reports and Recommendations: Interpretations, career recommendations, development recommendations, and other personalized content generated from your assessment results.

Technical and Usage Data: Information about how you access and use the app, which may include your IP address, device or app identifiers, operating system, app version, interactions with app features, and app performance, crash, or diagnostic information.

Transaction Information: Information relating to purchases or subscriptions and the products or subscription entitlements associated with your Ryne account. Payments made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are processed by those platforms. Ryne does not directly receive or store your full payment-card information.

3. How We Use Your Information
We may use your information to:

  • Create and manage your Ryne account.

  • Score your assessments and provide your results.

  • Generate personalized interpretations of your assessment results.

  • Generate career recommendations and career-development guidance.

  • Provide personalized Career Growth recommendations and other features you request.

  • Store your assessment history and allow you to access previous results.

  • Process and maintain records of purchases, subscriptions, and product access.

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Ryne app.

  • Understand how users interact with Ryne and improve the user experience.

  • Conduct research and improve our assessments, including evaluating assessment items and scales, improving reliability and validity, developing and updating norms, and improving scoring and interpretation methods.

  • Diagnose crashes, errors, and technical problems.

  • Protect the security and integrity of the app and prevent misuse.

  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use personality assessment results to make employment decisions about you. Ryne's assessment interpretations and career recommendations are intended for informational and developmental purposes.

4. Artificial Intelligence and Assessment Interpretations
Ryne uses third-party artificial intelligence providers, including OpenAI and Anthropic, to help generate personalized assessment interpretations, career guidance, and Career Growth recommendations.

When an AI-generated interpretation or recommendation is created, Ryne may send the AI provider information derived from your assessment results that is necessary to generate the requested content. This may include your assessment scale names, percentile scores, and instructions describing how those scores should be interpreted.

Ryne does not send direct account identifiers such as your name, email address, profile picture, account credentials, or other direct identifying account information to OpenAI or Anthropic as part of the assessment interpretation request.

Assessment information submitted for AI processing is separated from direct account identifiers before it is sent to the AI provider.

OpenAI and Anthropic process this information as third-party service providers for the purpose of generating the requested interpretation, recommendation, or developmental content.

Ryne uses commercial API services rather than consumer AI accounts for this processing. Under the providers' applicable commercial data practices, API data is not used to train their general-purpose AI models by default. Ryne does not opt in to programs that permit assessment inputs or generated reports to be used for general-purpose AI model training.

AI-generated interpretations are based on assessment results and are intended for informational, career-development, and self-development purposes. They are not medical, psychiatric, or mental-health diagnoses and should not be treated as such.

5. Data Sharing and Service Providers
Ryne does not sell your personal information or personality assessment results.

We may disclose or make information available to trusted service providers when necessary to operate Ryne. These providers include:

Artificial Intelligence Processing: Assessment scale information and scores may be processed through OpenAI's and Anthropic's commercial APIs to generate personalized interpretations, career recommendations, and development guidance. Direct account identifiers such as your name and email address are not included in these requests.

Analytics and App Diagnostics: Ryne uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how users interact with the app and Firebase Crashlytics to identify crashes, errors, and technical problems. These services may process technical, device, usage, app-interaction, crash, and diagnostic information as necessary to provide these functions.

Cloud Hosting and Data Storage: Ryne uses Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage for Firebase to store and manage application data, which may include account-related information, assessment information, results, generated reports, and other data necessary to provide Ryne's services.

Authentication: Ryne uses Firebase Authentication to create, authenticate, and manage user accounts. Depending on the authentication method you use, Firebase Authentication may process information such as your email address, authentication credentials or tokens, unique account identifier, name, and profile information.

Payments and Purchase Management: Purchases and subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, as applicable. Ryne may use RevenueCat to manage purchase and subscription status and associate product access with your Ryne account. Ryne does not directly receive or store your full payment-card information.

Legal and Security Purposes: We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or legal process, investigate fraud or security incidents, enforce our terms, or protect the rights and safety of Ryne, our users, or others.

We require service providers that process user information on our behalf to use appropriate safeguards and process information only for authorized purposes.

6. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain account information, assessment results, generated reports, purchase records, and related user data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Ryne's services and maintain your account, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

You may request deletion of your Ryne account and associated personal information through the account settings in the Ryne app.

When you delete your Ryne account, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account in accordance with applicable law. Information that has been de-identified so that it is no longer reasonably linked to you may be retained and used for research, assessment development, and improvement of Ryne’s services. Certain limited information may be retained where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security, or enforcement of our agreements.

Deleting your Ryne account does not automatically cancel an active Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Subscriptions must be managed or canceled through the applicable app store.

Information processed by third-party service providers may remain temporarily in backups, logs, or other systems in accordance with those providers' applicable retention practices before being deleted or de-identified.

7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse.

Ryne uses third-party infrastructure and security technologies, including Firebase services that provide encryption of supported data in transit and at rest. We also use access controls designed to limit access to user information to authorized systems and personnel as appropriate.

No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to Ryne, our service providers, our data practices, or applicable legal requirements.
